  3. Awww, you're self-image issues are laid bare by the fact you made yourself later-years-Elvis. That's the Elvis who thought he could dissipate clouds with his mind. At least go for 66 Comeback Leather Suit Elvis. Treat yourself better.

    It's 12 midnight here - just got home from the (out-of-town) wake feeling tired (and so sad) but thank heavens I am finally online and I saw this.

  11. I enjoyed the guest post, but please do not ever again send me to someone with that word verification crap. I saw a documentary once about making Elvis's jumpsuit costumes. A married couple make reproductions of them and have quite a bit of business. One of Elvis's originals had a beaded, jeweled (or whatever) cape that was so heavy he fell over backwards when he put it on. He didn't wear that one on stage! I bet you could handle it, though.

      Hmn... Blue on a beaded cape? hmn...

    3. Aren't you sweet to remove the verification! I moderate comments, which works well for me. Google doesn't let much spam through. Blue, I am betting one dollar. I think that's how much money I have in my purse right now.

    4. I only moderate older posts. And I tell spammers I will kick their butt if they try to pull their tricks on me. It works.

      One dollar. Well, I always carry around a lucky dollar in my blue wallet. I'm still alive so it must work. (How's that for faith!)

      What's wrong with a beaded cape? It makes me feel like a man.

      Omkareshwar
      Syllable 1 (Om): Rhymes with tome;
      Syllable 2 (ka): Similar to the first syllable in cahoot;
      Syllable 3 (resh): This syllable is stressed and rhymes with fish (not duck);
      Syllable 4 (war): Don't round your lips when pronouncing the /w/ and pretend there's no vowel.

      Om-ka-resh-war. See, I knew you could do it!

  17. When the office shut down figuratively for 3 months while they investigated some very inappropriate behavior against me talk about a lonely time for me, when Patches inched his way towards his brother the night of his death. Very hard to watch. Sitting in a dark room at 30 degrees and no electricity surrounded by over 300 bullets and five guns because I felt something was not quite right that night so I dropped by a friend's home. Him laying in my lap sobbing. Feeling sad because someone keeps me and only me at a distance and not understanding why. These r the times that I have held church.

    1. Poor little brothers. Sometimes I think I love animals more than I love people, who in my book (as a species throughout history and today) are the real animals. I do love individuals. Does that make any sense to you? Again, I hear yah and I am convinced church is what a lot of people need. Anything that's positive... I'm all for it.

  18. Church is within. Anytime u communicate, study, pray, reach out, reach in, love even love those whom very much do not care for u. It is not a building for me. I can be on my patio looking at Professor Alex, the moon, the trees, the river and I see God in my life.

  20. No was not staying up late. Had been to bed and the Professor needed to go outside for a wee minute. So I took him on a quick walk around the neighborhood as he does not like to do his business on our patio even though there is grass. Which is nice as my flowers/veggies very much appreciate.

    Always take those opportunites to check emails/blogs that I care about/voice mail for any important messages or emergency calls anytime I am awakened. U never know. And I keep my ringer off because well I need my sleep as much as possible.

    Ur blog is one that I check religiously (no pun intended) As u are a nurturer too and seem to care about ur blogging friends as much as I do so I do visit u often to see what is going on and to see ur comments to me and others.

    Will respond here to ur comment on my blog. Love me some Jane Austen on tv. However, cannot read the books as it is a wee bit much for my ADD. However, I did run across a blog that delves into the "Gumshoe" side of my character. It is called "The Mysterious Death of Miss Jane Marple" by Lindsay Ashford. U know I absolutely love that book and the thoughts in it. I love the clothes during the Jane Austen time period. And, if I ever get married, I shall wear a Jane Austen wedding dress. The men, of course, look maddingly handsome and dapper. And I like that era of strong-willed women as Jane Austen's main character usually are--

    However, she lets the men be standoffish but in love so to speak. The men have to work for the woman's attention and I think that is the way it should be. Granted once they have the attention of said woman then she lovingly cares and nurtures them. However, u do need a little spitfire in the woman to keep the man's interest. No??? Those songs have always been dear to me. They mean something to me.

    I bargained for a very nice reclining lawn chair for the patio as the other one got destroyed last summer and I had not replaced it yet. Concrete is not comfortable. The Professor and I spent a lot of time outside yesterday and enjoyed the wonderful weather. As well, we spend early morning hours outside. It is nice to be surrounded by a big tree with the moonlight peeking through and looking at my lovely flower/veggie garden. All I needed was some cello playing. The Professor has an obsession for the birds so they entertain him a lot. I may get him his own bird house. High up mind u so he does not hurt the birds. And, then when he grew bored, he jumped up with me on the recliner and I massaged him while we stared at the moonlight and I texted my stepmom in NC regarding what was going on and a possible family/best friend/me trip to Savannah, GA. My most favorite place.

    Ur Elvis costume is FABULOUS. I shall always think of u and Elvis together in character and personality.

    In regards to church, spirituality and beliefs, everyone in my world gets to have their own beliefs and whatnot even if we are different in views. Just be happy and content is all I want for my friends. My friends and I have a saying "Let us agree to disagree on a matter and just leave it at that." How boring it would all be if we all thought the same thing. No. One must have a respect for one another thoughts and feelings. Doesn't mean they have to be the same but give them respect for their own beliefs.

    1. Good idea to keep your ringer off. I tend to forget to switch the thing off. By the way, I love that unintended pun which was really no pun and if it was, you didn't know. Those are the best ones. And as for Jane Austen.... I'm always a bit amused by some of the words that were used at the time. I'm sure someone reading this post two hundred years from now will be amused too. (Stop laughing, future person!) No, concrete isn't comfortable. Not that I've ever tried it out myself. The Professor's bird house... I like the sound of that. Maybe I could use one myself. I'd have to paint it blue, of course. Elvis has been a part of my life since the early 1970's. I just get really upset when I'm confronted with another impersonator. None of them have talent, and those who do should be their own person. Imitation is weak.

      Yes, I wouldn't want to live in a world where we're all the same... like clones.

  24. I always freak out when one wants a guest post. I have a hard enough time keeping up with my own lol. Though yours was very lovely. I never did understand how one can feel more spiritual just because they are in a man made building. I asked my grandma's pastor if she would like to marry my now husband and I. She would only do it if I was a church goer. I told her I didn't need to sit in a building every Sunday to feel a connection with God. She didn't appreciate that answer. We ended up getting married by the Justice of the Peace, and given the chance, I'd go with the JP all over again.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. That makes two of us. How superior of that pastor to not want to marry a non-church goer. Yep, that's a new coinage. I bet she didn't appreciate your unambiguous stance.

      Delete
  25. Oh my--Ms. Mahoney--

    Well, I think I would go for Justice of the Peace or get a willing minister to marry me in a spiritual place that I love.

    I'm sorry that happened to you. And I agree just because one sits in a building aka church does not make one closer to God. In fact, they say that most whom go to church will not be in heaven that we will be quite surprised. I try to keep myself in check on this issues. Try not to keep my beliefs to myself. They are personal anyway. No????

    A wedding to me should be pleasant. It is for u and the bridegroom and a few close family and friends. Unfortunately, some of my family members would not be invited and I would keep it a secret. And I know my dad and stepmom would keep it private too because they know the drama I have had in my life.

    What a story Ms. Theresa.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Oops ..."Try to keep my beliefs to myself." No one really cares but one's self and those close to u involved in ur life. And that's the way it should be. The world would be happier if we "minded our own business." Of course, I constantly have to check myself on that as I try to get up into certain people's lives that I have no right too.

    2. That was one pretty deep post Blue. I share your same views about religions. Yes religions or movies or monuments or building are special and they have the power to alter our lifestyle or change our life or given life but by another soul close to this. A house is made of bricks and mortar but a home is made is with love and happiness. Temples, Churches or Mosques mean nothing if they cant help us connect us with better version of us.

      Delete
    3. But could it be too deep? There is some serious debate among Blueman readers that blue posts should be fun but never religiously slash politically deep. Like a snack that doesn't make you think. No? Good. That said, dear, I just wanted you to know how much I appreciate your insightful comments.
