MENTAL NOTE

"Though we cannot make our sun stand still, yet we will make him run."
Blue, resist the urge to use facebook. You can do it. Good luck.
Cats and dogs can be friends. So can cowboys and indians. So can we.
Will you ever reach Bora?

A Thousand Tiny Cuts

A THOUSAND TINY CUTS

A thousand tiny cuts
Treacherous
Numbing
Barely there.

A thousand cuts
To not feel confident there was
A sign too obvious to miss
Too hard to ignore
But a thousand cuts would do the trick
and did:
Spread the pain and you won't know
Spread the insults, you won't feel
Spread the lies and you can't tell
who you are
today.

  1. Each and every one of those thousand tiny cuts stings. And bleeds.
Heartfelt hugs, oceans of caring and emotional bandaids are flowing your way.

  2. Those tiny cuts can represent so much together, so much hurt.
I can see this as meaning literal cuts as well. Because some people do that.

    1. I knew you'd get it. Yes, I know the type. Not me, though. Ever. I'd rather watch Ghostbusters 2016.

  3. Blue, I'm sending you a hug. I'm not sure how else to respond.Cutting can be dangerous so I hope you are writing figuratively rather than physically.

  5. Too many lies spread all the time. Too many insults spoken while we dine. Too much pain has a strange way of seeming fine.

    Love,

  7. Tiny cuts get infected and hurt unexpectedly. Just a tiny paper cut, and there you go.

  9. Sometimes the tiny cuts hurt more than the larger ones, but they do heal the fastest. Chin up, Blue! Thinking of you :)

This really resonated with me as to the state of our world today. A thousand tiny cuts every day until we're numb to the pain to the noise of suffering. Excellent post Blue!

  15. It seems that the more we're hurt, the less we feel it. It just becomes the norm and thus we are numb to it when it keeps happening.

  16. This hits home for me in the literal sense. One of my most favored students got nothing for Valentine's Day while everyone around her was being showered with the stupid wooden roses they sold in the cafeteria. She took out a pair of scissors in one of her classes and promptly began cutting her arms. My heart breaking in a million pieces with the news.

  18. And an armour nowhere to be found! If we had a penny for each cut we'd be gazillionaires.
